Learning Activity on Production Calendars and Promoting Gender Equality for Sustainable Agriculture!

On June 24–25, 2026, Huamjai Asasamak Association, along with a team of technical officers from relevant sectors and local villagers, organized an activity on “Agricultural Production Seasonal Calendar Study and Participatory Gender Role Analysis.” The event took place at the Homxaykham Village in Beng District, Oudomxay Province 📍, under the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) / LEAP-LVG Programme.
This activity is part of a Participatory Action Research (PAR) initiative aimed at strengthening community capacity to study the impacts of chemical use and find ways to adapt to climate change 🌍. A total of 24 participants (including 12 women) attended to exchange ideas and share lessons learned.
✨ What we learned and achieved together:
📊 Building a Community Database: Together, we analyzed weather patterns and crop cycles (rice, maize, and rubber) over a 12-month period to identify critical periods and timely coping mechanisms.
⚖️ Analyzing Gender Roles: Through activities like the “Daily Life Schedule” and the “Balance Tree,” we gained insights into family roles, sharing workloads, and joint decision-making power to promote true gender equality.
