Empowering Women Leaders Today to Build Community Resilience Tomorrow

Early this October, HuamJai Asasamak Association (HJA) organized a leadership training workshop 👑 for 28 young women volunteers in 5 target villages in Beng District, Oudomxay Province. During the training, participants learned through real-life demonstrations and working groups that include:

Joint Decision-Making 📚: Through group discussions, participants practiced methods for collecting data, analyzing problems, and planning for adaptation to changing climate conditions, especially in the agricultural sector.

Communication 📝: Participants received opportunities to act as facilitators and confidently present their own ideas, which helped boost their confidence and communication skills.

Good Teamwork 👥: The training activities taught that a good leader is not someone who works alone but someone who can connect and delegate tasks to other members based on the abilities and roles of each individual.

Emphasizing leadership among women is important because women are often the main force in managing water resources, food, and agriculture. By empowering them, it will help decision-making at the household and community levels regarding coping with drought, floods, and environmental problems to be more effective.
