Mrs. Vera Vananalin, a resident of Han village in Hongsa District, Xayabouly Province, was among the families significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The economic restrictions imposed during the outbreak further exacerbated their already challenging situation, as the family relied solely on Ver Vanhnalin’s income. This lack of diversified income sources left them financially vulnerable and hindered their ability to improve their household’s economic stability. Following the launch of CORE-19 project under the CISAC-19 Program in Hongsa District, Xayabouly Province, Ver Vanhnalin’s family was identified as a beneficiary. The project equipped them with seeds and essential equipment to establish a vegetable garden, aimed at empowering unemployed youth within the family to generate income and contribute to household financial stability. This vital initiative is scheduled to conclude by the end of November 2022 and within the first three months after receiving project support, Ver Vanhnalin’s family successfully generated income through vegetable sales on three round. Each sale yielded an average profit of between 1,000,000 and 1,500,000 kip, contributing significantly to their household income. This notable improvement led to a tangible enhancement in their quality of life.
