On June 7, 2024, HJA held an annual review meeting for 2023 at the Grand Vientiane Hotel, Vientiane capital. The meeting had a total of 23 participants, 13 women. The purposes of meeting were: - To report the results of program implementation by HJA for 2023. - To plan future activities for 2024.

Thanks to CORE-19 project, which provided us with vegetables seeds and the equipment to build a greenhouse. We have seen a significant difference in our lives. The greenhouse allows us to grow vegetables year-round, regardless of the weather, and it prevents our produce from rotting or getting burnt.

Thanks to a new greenhouse, my vegetables crops are thriving. I mainly cultivate rice for a living and grow vegetables to supplement my income. Over the past two years, the rising cost of living has had a direct impact on us farmers who already earn low wages. The income generated from selling rice barely covers our daily expenses. Although I do cultivate vegetables, it doesn’t offer a stable income due to the impact of unpredictable weather conditions, which greatly affect our production.

Youth volunteers from the Huam Jai Asasamak Association and Phan-Thin Social Enterprise facilitated activities and guided 30 students from the target group in exploring and studying the environment. These activities included studying birds, plants, soil, aquatic animals, and water quality. The goal was to create an understanding of the environment's benefits and how to protect it.

This comprehensive gathering served a multi-faceted purpose: critically reviewing the Association’s accomplishments and shortcomings over the past year, gleaning valuable insights from both successes and challenges, conducting a meticulous analysis of the organization’s internal and external environment, and charting a compelling course for future collaborative efforts with the local community. Notably, the year 2024 promises continued partnership between the volunteers and local communities, with a concerted focus on three key areas: fostering robust personnel capacity building, streamlining various internal management systems within the organization, and fundraising.

Huam Jai Asasamak Association was held a Training of Trainer (TOT)🤩🤩 to empowering 15 volunteers to become effective facilitators and leaders. The participants actively in the training, sharing their diverse experiences and honing their coaching skills through engaging demonstrations. They seamlessly transitioned between the roles of leader and facilitator, receiving valuable feedback and guidance from seasoned trainers.🫶🤲🌱

Well-done‼️👍 of the communication strategy training for 15 volunteers, held on November 11-12, 2023. The training was rich in sharing knowledge and understanding of effective communication skills that can be applied in various aspects of life, including study, work, and personal interactions.🥰🤲🌱

HJA conducted a comprehensive training session titled "Saoban Research" for its staff. This initiative aimed to equip them with robust skills and capacity in process design, particularly in Saoban research methodology. The training covered the meaning, principles, and historical context of Saoban research, emphasizing accuracy and adherence to established principles.

HJA convened a meeting on May 25, 2023 in Xayabouly Province to present the outcomes and glean insights from the implementation of CORE-19 project.  The meeting gathered a total of 43 participants, with women comprising 13 of those present. The meeting featured presentations on the project's achievements, key learnings, and a proposed handover plan for continued guidance and monitoring in the target districts of Hongsa and KanThaow.

The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance and rejuvenate the livelihood s of families and communities adversely impacted by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

A collaborative workshop convenes to facilitate knowledge exchange and glean key insights from the monitoring activities surrounding the CORE-19 project's youth vegetable-growing initiative. The session will culminate in a collaborative action plan alongside project partners, empowering the youth to continue independent and sustainable project operations.

HJA team and partners in collaboration with provincial and district officials conducted a monitoring and evaluation visit to assess the outcomes of their activities.

launch of CORE-19 project under the CISAC-19 Program in Hongsa District, Xayabouly Province, Ver Vanhnalin’s family was identified as a beneficiary. The project equipped them with seeds and essential equipment to establish a vegetable garden, aimed at empowering unemployed youth within the family to generate income and contribute to household financial stability.

On February 21, 2023, Huam Jai Asasamak Association (HJA) convened a comprehensive meeting with two key objectives: firstly, presenting a comprehensive report on the Association’s activities throughout the preceding year, fostering transparency and accountability among members. Secondly, the forum facilitated collaborative planning for the future, ensuring continued progress towards shared goals. Additionally, the meeting served as a platform for the democratic election of a new Board of Directors and Inspection Committee. This vital governance restructure aims to further streamline the Association’s operations and enhance its efficacy in achieving its collective aspirations.
